7th December 2015 – Update on APOQUEL (oclacitinib tablet) Availability in the United Kingdom.
Zoetis is pleased to announce that as a result of increasing manufacturing capacity APOQUEL is now available to all customers via direct purchase from their chosen veterinary wholesaler. Pet owners should continue to purchase from their veterinary surgeon as normal.
With that in mind, the allocation management portal is now retired. Any stocks you were expecting to receive in December per requests previously placed via the portal will not be fulfilled. Rather, you can now order APOQUEL directly from your veterinary wholesaler as you would any other veterinary pharmaceutical.
We know how frustrating limited supply of this innovated product has been for veterinary surgeons and pet owners alike, and thank one and all for the patience, understanding and judicious use of limited supplies over the past year. Your support allowed us to bring APOQUEL to all dogs that most desperately needed it.

Questions for Pet Owners
- When will my dog's veterinary surgeon receive APOQUEL (or more APOQUEL)?
APOQUEL is now available to all UK vet practices. Your veterinary surgeon remains the best source of information on APOQUEL and when it will be available for your pet at his or her practice.
- What are you doing to ensure that APOQUEL will be available to all dogs that need it?
We have incorporated a variety of safeguards to ensure that APOQUEL supply will better align with demand. We have reduced the length of time it takes to manufacture the product and added manufacturing capacity.
- My vet told me that I need APOQUEL for my dog, but he/she has not begun carrying the product yet, so can I order directly from you?
Like most Zoetis medicines, APOQUEL is only available through prescription and through your veterinary surgeon. Your veterinary surgeon remains the best source of care for your dog’s individual situation.
- I want my dog to have APOQUEL how can I get it?
Please discuss your dog’s health and APOQUEL with your veterinary surgeon. APOQUEL is only available under prescription from your vet.
- I’ve seen APOQUEL available from online pharmacies; are you selling APOQUEL to these outlets?
We are obliged by free trade laws to supply APOQUEL to all outlets which have met the legal requirements to dispense animal medicines.
Your veterinary surgeon remains the best source of care for your dog’s individual situation and evaluation of your dog’s ongoing APOQUEL use, so we recommend that you keep in regular contact with your veterinary surgeon.
