Bovine respiratory disease can result in a number of symptoms, but most of these are non-specific and so it is not usually possible to identify the cause of the outbreak from symptoms alone. Cattle with respiratory disease often have a poor general appearance and perform less well.
Common signs include:
In the early stages, depression and reduced appetite (off-feed)
Breathing difficulty – rapid or deep chest movements, with or without open mouth breathing
Raised temperature (>39.6°C )
Nose and eye discharge
